GÉANT invites participants to register for new information security workshop
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center will host the first WISE workshop.
18 August 2015 | Amsterdam, Netherlands
GÉANT invites participants to its first 'WISE' workshop - Wise Information Security for collaborating E-infrastructures - to be held on 20-22 October, 2015 in the Barcelona Supercomputing Center in Spain. Anyone interested in information security is welcome to attend. The workshop's objective is to enhance collaboration among e-infrastructures and their communities on handling security information.
The workshop is organised by the GÉANT Special Interest Group for Information Security Management, SIG-ISM (formerly known as CISO) in collaboration with SCI (Security for Collaboration among Infrastructures) and sponsored by the four e-infrastructures GÉANT, EGI, EUDAT and PRACE. Additional sponsorship is provided by the Human Brain Project.
It's imperative that collaboration between GÉANT and e-infrastructures intensifies on a global scale, to mitigate information security vulnerabilities and to cope with the increasingly complex security issues that affect e-infrastructures and related services.
GÉANT is very keen on working together with national research and education networks (NRENs) and other organisations such as e-infrastructures. Therefore, two of the most important objectives of the workshop will be to connect the various involved parties to more effectively seek solutions to common challenges, and to investigate and discuss tools to enhance general knowledge about security among e-infrastructures.
The main topics that the workshop will cover are:
- Standards ISMS
- Risk management
- Experiences about certification process from NRENs
- Certification against ISO27k
- Trusted introduce program
- Security Intelligence share
- Intrusion detection
