Register now for next TF-Storage meeting
1 September 2015 | Amsterdam, Netherlands
With a mixture of presentations by commercial vendors, a focus on the Ceph software storage platform, and updates about the OpenCloudMesh initiative and the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculator, the 17th meeting of the task force on storage (TF-Storage) promises to be a useful gathering for all storage aficionados from the GÉANT community. There is still room on the agenda for updates by community organisations or interesting developments or topics that participants wish to highlight. Registration is now open.
The TF-Storage meeting will be held on 13-14 October and hosted by the University of Pisa, with the support of GARR, the Italian national research and education network (NREN).
The first day will focus mostly on Ceph updates and how-to’s, presented by SUSE, the open-source LINUX software company. This serves as a follow-up to the last TF-Storage meeting, which was held in Vienna. A significant part of the second day will be used for vendor updates from Scality, EMC Viper / ScaleIO and Seagate Kinetic. Attendants will also have the opportunity to give feedback and discuss the TCO calculator, which was demonstrated during this year's networking conference, TNC15, in the ‘TF-Storage meets GÉANT and industry’ meeting.
Additionally, the OpenCloudMesh initiative will provide an overview of recent activities and engage in an open-ended roundtable discussion with participants.
If you want to give an update from your NREN / institution or a product presentation, please contact Peter Szegedi or send your idea to the TF-Storage mailing list.
