After a very successful 2nd Workshop in Utrecht, the 3rd "GTS Tech+Futures Workshop" took place in Utrecht on Feb. 28 - March 01, 2017.
During the workshop the community of testbed users had the opportunity to share experiences and see how their know-how and proficiency can affect GÉANT and the GÉANT Testbeds Service in the future. The workshop was also open and of great interest to researchers who may not have had a chance to try out the Testbeds Service and were new to GTS, but could benefit from such a network platform to support their experiments.
Just like in the first two workshops, users presented some of their work and also put an emphasis on what type of features are needed and would be most welcome. The requests ranged from support of time services to more flexibility when it comes to flavors of virtual machines. Other well debated topics were security testbeds, bandwidth allocation, monitoring and performance issues.
