As TNC17 closes, we ask was this the best TNC yet?

Linz, Austria | 02 June 2017

TNC17’s programme of sessions ended today, Thursday 1 June, with a closing plenary hosted by AARnet CTO David Wilde and GÉANT CEO Steve Cotter, and an invitation to attend TNC18 in Trondheim, Norway.

As we look back over the past three days of the conference there are so many highlights to remember, here are just a few:

1 beautiful city;
2 ‘Christians’ – Panigl and Grimm opening TNC17 with style and humour;
6 students delivering some of the 30+ Lightning Talks, as part of the new GÉANT Future Talent Fund initiative;
8 plenary talks, featuring speakers from Ars Electronica, Google, GigaScience and more;
24 sessions covering topics such as SDN, cloud adoption and federated identity;
33 side events, including BoFs, demos, workshops and meetings;
69 countries represented;
124 speakers and sessions chairs;

721 participants;

… And nearly 2,500 views of our video streams!

Our thanks go to the teams behind this successful event, from the Programme Committee to the local host ACOnet team, to the Events team and all our sponsors and exhibitors who made this such a collaborative week.

TNC17 ended with an invitation from Norwegian NREN UNINETT to visit Trondheim next year for TNC18. We cannot wait!

Finally, please provide your feedback so we can continue to make this event better and better.

Thank you for helping to make TNC17 such a success!
