GÉANT invites you to register now​ to benefit from the early-bird discount on the participation fee of next year's networking conference, TNC16. The rebate of € 200 is available until midnight CET on 29 February 2016. This means that the early registration fee is €600 (excluding VAT). From 1 March 2016, registration will continue at the full cost of € 800 (excluding VAT).​

Building the Internet of People​” is the theme of TNC16, the largest networking conference for research and education, which will be held between 12-16 June 2016, hosted in Prague by the Czech research and education network organisation CESNET. 

The 2016 edition of the highly successful event will focus not only on the latest (networking) technology, but will also put the spotlight on the people from the worldwide research and education networking community who make innovation possible. 

How to pa​​rticipate

The initial call for proposals - for presentations and session topics - has now closed, but there is still the opportunity to actively contribute to TNC16. 

Meeting prop​​osals

To cater to a growing demand from the community, at TNC16 more opportunities will be created to organise working groups, BoFs, meetings and workshops. Places can be reserved for Sunday 12 June and Thursday 16 June. Until 15 January 2016 you can submit meeting proposals to Proposals should include title, proposer names and affiliations, five keywords describing the meeting, the meeting format, technical requirements, a short introduction and the intended audience. The Programme Committee will decide which meeting requests will be honoured and all submitters will be notified at the end of January 2016.

Lightnin​​g talks

The call for the second round for lightning talks will open in early February and will run until 15 April 2016, midnight CET. Lightning talks are 5 minute talks, in which a hot topic is quickly addressed.


Poster proposals​ may include future work that is expected to produce results in the first half of 2016. Abstracts should clearly indicate what work has already been done and what still has to be take place. The deadline for poster proposals is 15 April 2016, midnight CET. 


An exhibition area dedicated to posters, demonstrations and exhibits will be set up in the TNC16 conference venue. Companies and projects wishing to participate in a demonstration or exhibition should contact​.
