Rachele Gianfranchi joins GÉANT Executive team

GÉANT welcomes Rachele Gianfranchi, who joins the GÉANT Executive team as Chief External Relations Officer (CERO) responsible for setting the strategic direction for the organisation’s engagement with the European Commission (EC) and GÉANT’s non-NREN customers. In addition, Rachele will be key to providing visible and influential leadership for the Learning & Development and Events teams.
In 2011 Rachele founded Cinquantenaire Partners Ltd., a Brussels-based advisory firm focusing on H2020 Research Funding and EU Affairs. Prior to this she worked a decade with the EC’s DG Enlargement (now DG NEAR) and the World Bank CITPO team providing grant and policy support to future EU Accession countries, and advising MENA and Gulf Regions on Telecom sector liberalisation.
Rachele has a Master’s degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins’ University (SAIS), a Laurea in Political Science from Universita’ di Firenze, and is fluent in four languages (Italian, English, French and Spanish) with a basic knowledge of Dutch.

My mission as CERO will be to maintain GÉANT's reputation, enhance its visibility and pave the way for future partnerships and opportunities. My mandate aims to contribute to the growth of the organisation in a rapidly evolving technological environment."
