The call to NRENS to nominate students for the Students Lightning Talks Challenge resulted in 13 students from 7 countries that are currently anxiously making themselves up for a 3-webinar course where they will be enlightened, inspired, trained and coached by experts from our field.

The training course will not only give them a unique opportunity to conquer a spot on the Lightning Talks stage at TNC17, but will also give a boost to their professional development and a great experience of our GÉANT community.

The 1st webinar has just taken place and the course will continue to run over the next two weeks, after which the students will be steamed ready to submit their topic and proposal to the TNC17 Programme Committee.

The Students Lightning Talk Challenge is the first activity of the GÉANT Future Talent Fund and offers students from the GÉANT NREN community an opportunity to develop themselves and advance their work via a Lightning Talk at TNC17. The registration closed on 8 March.

Many thanks to ACOnet, ASNET, CYNET, FCCN, LITNET, SURFnet, Uninett and their educational institutions, as well as other partners for supporting this opportunity to students.
